How An 18-Year-Old And His ‘Army’ Are Marching To Defeat Cancer

Cancer sucks. These were the words inscribed on wristbands and given away by 18-year-old Adam, who had been diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Adam and his cousin had ordered the bright orange wristbands online because it summed up, in two words, how Adam was feeling after learning what he faced. For many years ALL had been a diagnosis that came without much hope, but thanks to the efforts of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital the survival rate for ALL has increased from 4% before opening in 1962 to 94% today.

Inaugural Event for the Courage Thru Cancer Benefitting the Wings Foundation

Courage Thru Cancer is an inaugural event to champion the cause and human spirit during cancer treatments and to encourage and inspire patients during their fight.

The event is November 6, 2015 at 7:00 pm. It will be held at Minglewood Hall. Tickets are on sale now at www.minglewoodhall.com

The goal of this event is to create a living tribute to anyone facing these battles and ensure their story will be told. On the night of this event, we will be launching a new website, which will help us accomplish this goal. Our five honorees are Gerry Finney, Zeke Logan, Dana Burkett, Jayde Gordon, and Patrick Crump. Musical guests will include Walrus, The Refugees, and Gerry Finney and Friends.
